Dr. Vibha Bafna
Dr Vibha Bafna is a pediatrician and paediatric hemoto-oncologist, with more than 25 years of experience in the field of general pediatrics. She completed her MBBS from Seth GS Medical college and KEM Hospital, Mumbai and MD Pediatrics from Grant medical College and Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai. Later she completed the IAP Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology from BJ Wadia Hospital, Mumbai. She has been practicing Pediatric Hematology and Oncology for more than 10 years. She is the In-Charge of the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology unit at Bharati Vidyapeeth Hospital and also runs a fellowship program to train young pediatricians in this field. She is attached as a consultant Pediatric hematologist and Oncologist to Jehangir Hospital, Pune. She has numerous research publications in many reputed medical journals, as well as presentations, lectures, panel discussions, etc in national and international conferences, such as SIOP and PHOCON. Her chief area of interest and expertise is in treating children with haematological disorders in children like anemia, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, bleeding disorders, platelet disorders like ITP, blood cancer (leukemia)and other solid cancers of children affecting the kidney, brain, liver, bones and muscles, eyes, etc. Apart from academics she enjoys reading, listening to music, travelling and spending time with family.
Dr. Sanjay Bafna
Dr Sanjay Bafna is a pediatrician and paediatric respiratory specialist with more than 30 years of experience in treating children with a wide range of medical conditions. He completed his MBBS followed by MD in Pediatrics from BJ medical college and Sassoon hospital, Pune. He also trained in Pediatric Pulmonolgy and has received the European Diploma in Pediatric Respiratory medicine. This encompasses tranining in pediatric asthma, allergy, intensive respiratory care, bronchoscopy and sleep medicine. In May 2023, he visited Birmingham Children's Hospital, UK, for a clinical observership program in aediatric pulmonology. He is the In-Charge of the Pediatric Pulmonology unit in Bharati Vidyapeeth hospital and runs a fellowship program for training young pediatric postgraduates in this field. He is attached as a Consultant Pediatrician and Pediatric Pulmonologist to Jehangir Hospital where he was the head of pediatric department for more than 10 years. He has many research publications in reputed international and national journals as well as being a national trainer for teaching modules for pediatricians like the pediatric advanced life support, basic and advanced pediatric Intensive Care course, asthma training module, allergic rhinitis and comorbidities module, etc. He has been the president of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Pune Branch, and has been invited to many national, state and regional conferences as faculty to deliver lectures. . His chief areas of interest are treating children with problems like asthma, allergy, complex and rare congenital and acquired respiratory disorders of children, doing bronchoscopies and diagnosing sleep related problems in children. Outside work, he enjoys trekking, reading, and travelling.
